Charles H. Sheridan, 94, of Washington Court House, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at 11:07 a.m. at Fayette County Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient since Thursday.
He was born December 6, 1919, in New Holland, Ohio to Harold Robert and Ada Belle Flack Sheridan. He was a graduate of Washington High School and lived most of his life in this community. He had wintered 35 years in Venice, FL.
Mr. Sheridan had formerly operated a grocery store with his father and later had Sheridan's Restaurant. He had also worked at Grove City Lumber. For 40 years he owned and operated Sheridan Insurance and was a real estate broker.
He was a member of Crossroads Christian Church; the Fayette County Commission on Aging and was a World War II
veteran of the Army
Mr. Sheridan was preceded in death by his wife, the former Betty Jane Flint on January 3, 2010; a granddaughter, Katie Sheridan; a great grandson, Vincent Poulos and a brother, Robert Sheridan.
He is survived by three children, Connie Sheridan of Columbus; Gregory Sheridan and his wife, Gretchen, of Carmel, IN and Jeffrey Sheridan and his wife, Anita, of Washington Court House and three grandchildren, Jill Poulos and her husband, Mat, and Allison Schmidt and her husband, Brian, of all of Carmel, IN and Andrew Sheridan and his wife, Melissa, of Nashville, TN and two great grandchildren, Veronica and Maxwell Poulos.
Arrangements for a memorial service to be held at the Crossroads Christian Church are being completed and will be announced by the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House.
Private burial of the cremains will be in Washington Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.
