Mrs. Josephine (Hurles) Scott, 79, formerly of Washington C.H. died peacefully embracing her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ Feb. 23, 2014 at Nathon Adelson Hspice Care in Las Vegas, Nevada. Josephine (Jo) was born Jan. 13, 1935 in Jackson Center, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Rodman Scott; her parents Bertha and William Hurles, three brothers, Robert, Donald and William.
Josephine is survived by two daughters, Rita Scott, Virginia and Rebecca Vonderscher (Bill) of Cincinnati, one son Michael Scott (Pisey) Siem Reap, Cambodia and one brother, Rev. Vernon Hurles, Fairborn.
Also to mourn her passing are four grandchildren: Jason Scott, Cincinnati, Eric (Amanda) Scott, Beavercreek, Melissa (Naveed) Fazli, California and Jamie (Jorge) Mennechey, Virginia and three step-grandchildren, Crystal Brown, Carrie Jean Hines, J. Parks and a special guy, Bryce of Maui.
Josephine leaves behind a legacy of love for her family and many friends. She trusted Christ as her personal Savior. Her mother referred to her as "my lucky number" because four brothers had preceded her in the family. All of her brothers agreed with their mother, how lucky they were to have such a great sister.
A public graveside service will be conducted for Josephine on Saturday, March 15 at the Sabina Cemetery at 1 p.m. with Rev. Vernon Hurles officiating. In lieu of flowers, donors are asked to contribute to the Nathon Adelson Hospice, 4141 Swanson St., Las Vegas, NV 89119 (nah.org) in Josephine Scott's memory.
