MARGARET ELIZABETH RAPP (WARE) WASHBURN, age 86, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 11:42 a.m. at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Bob; where she had been residing.

She was born on September 11, 1927 in Pike County to Floyd and Edith Blakeman Rapp. She was a member of the Heritage Memorial Church. She was a devoted Mother and Grandmother who loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed bowling, cooking, loved all sports, went to various sporting events with her children and grandchildren and loved people in general. She was a very social person who always had a beautiful smile.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James Washburn, brothers Paul, Thomas, Omar, and Howard Rapp, and sisters Bertha Rapp, Ruth Spratz, and Verna Vulgamore.

She is survived by her children Sharma (Bob) Ewing and their children Jill (Eric) Green all of Wilmington, Jeff (Tina) Runnels of Germany, Karen Sue Binegar and her children Jenny Little, Bill (Misty) Bishop and Beau Binegar, Mary Ann (Bob) Coe and their children Monty (Jenn) Coe and Doug Coe and his fiancé Jenny Waddle; 18 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; siblings Charles (Kathryn) Rapp of Piketon, Mary Wheeler of Florida, Francis (Vernon) Pierce of Arizona, sister-in-law Dot Rapp of Florida, Fay Jr. (Geneva) Washburn, Eleanor Priest, Ann (Merrill) Kaufman, Bonnie (Richard) Benson, Geneva Wagnor, as well as the father of her children, Bill (Natalie) Ware. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends including special friends who were like family, Denise (Dale) Butler.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Wallace and Chaplin Dean Queen officiating with burial to follow at the Washington Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
