Mark H. Beam, 65 of Greenfield, passed away Friday afternoon, August 1, 2014 at Ohio State University Hospital.
Born July 4, 1949 in Columbus, the son of the late John William and Virginia Hamilton Beam.
Mark is survived by his wife Barbara Grim Beam whom he married June 28, 1970.
A 1967 graduate of Miami Trace High School, he was active in the FFA , receiving The American Farmer Degree in 1968. He served in the Air Force Reserves. Mark was a man of many talents and associations, which included farming the family farms, Melvin Stone, Greenline and long distant specialty trucking. He was a self-taught engineer who liked designing and engineering anything that hadn't been thought of yet or that needed improved upon. He was involved in many farming organizations and was always interested in furthering agricultural activities.
He is survived by his children, Wade of Seattle, Josh (Sarah) of Mt. Wolf, PA and Grant (Beth Martin) of Greenfield. Grandchildren Jack and Luke Beam and Jeffrey Mathews and his dog Pete.
Brother, Craig (Cathy) Beam of Sabina. In laws, Carol and Keith Jenkins of Granville, and Larry and Helen Grim of Mt. Sterling, several nieces and nephews and aunt Dodie Oglesbee of Dayton. He was preceded in death by his beloved uncle and mentor Jack Beam.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 Wednesday at the Sabina United Methodist Church.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 3-8 pm and from 1-2 on Wednesday at the church.
A private burial will be in the Sabina Cemetery at the family's convenience.
