WILLIAM ARTHUR MOUNT  — The funeral for William Arthur Mount, 91, of Washington Court House was held Saturday, April 26, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Everett L. Miller, pastor at the church, officiating. David Penwell was the organist.  Acolytes were Bill's great granddaughters, Halli Wall, Aria Marting and Meghan Love.  Scripture readers were great grandsons, John Wall with Kyler Mount and granddaughter, Trisha Warner. Eddie Fisher gave a remembrance on behalf of Armco employees and Dr. Christy Wall, granddaughter of Bill, gave remembrances on behalf of the family. Lori Love, Bill's granddaughter,  sang "Amazing Grace."

Pallbearers for the burial in Washington Cemetery were John Halliday, Bill Link, Scott Marting, Dr. Jim McCracken, Kyler Mount and Gary Shaffer.  Honorary pallbearers were Sgt. Zach Brown, Martin and Matthew Fisher, Matt and Tucker Love, Logan and Rufus Meriweather, Kyle Mount, Jeremy Patton, Dr. Greg Wall and Justin Warner.

Complete military honors were bestowed by the Veterans of Fayette County Honor Guard.  The flag, which draped the casket of the decorated World War II Army veteran, was folded by Eddie Fisher and Charles "Buck" Harris and was accepted by Bill's, daughter, Teri Merwither, for later presentation to Bill's grandson, Sgt. Zach Brown.  Members of the honor guard were Sheldon Litton, Tom Slager, Cliff Puckett, John Mason, David Frederick, Jack Smallwood and Paul Sands with Bill Foody serving as commander.  Stephen Zastrow sounded taps.

Bill, a retired Armco management supervisor and widower of Wardella Boyer Mount, died Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at Carriage Court Assisted Living where he had been residing since July, 2012.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House.
