Elaine Ella Eilers, 93, passed away on January 18, 2009. She was born in San Francisco on January 9, 1916 to Adolph Dauth and Emma Metzler Dauth. When Elaine was 8 years old she moved from San Francisco to Linden with her mother and two siblings. She was educated in the Linden Schools and played violin in the High School Orchestra. In 1935, Elaine married W. K. "Charley" Eilers who immigrated from Germany 9 years earlier.
Music was a large part of Elaine's life. She was active in the Linden Community Methodist Church serving as organist for the church for 25 years; as an accomplished accompanist, Elaine played for various local performances and in her later years she loved to sing along with performers at Meadowood Convalescent Home in Stockton where she lived.
Elaine's activities included Linden Methodist Women's Society; California Women for Agriculture; Farm Bureau Women; Linden Garden Club; and the Executive Club of Lodi. She also enjoyed organizing local dinner clubs and sewing clubs.
Preceding her in death was Charley, her husband of 68 years and her sister, Evelyn Morrill. She leaves behind her children Charlotte Raspaolo of Stockton, John Eilers of Linden; her siblings, Retired Lt. Colonel Albert Dauth of Honolulu, Hawaii; 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to a Funeral Service on Tuesday, January 27, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Linden United Methodist Church, 19147 E. Hwy 26, Linden, with committal to follow the service at Linden Cemetery, Linden.
Memorials in Elaine's name may be given to the Linden United Methodist Church.
