MANLEY LEE "IKE" DRAKE(1942 - 2013)

MANLEY LEE "IKE" DRAKE July 6, 1942 - January 30, 2013 Manley Lee "Ike" Drake went home to be with the Lord on Jan.30 2013. He passed peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Sacramento, Ca. July 6 1942 to Daniel Adelbert Drake and Inez Movetta Capron. He spent time in the National Guard, and spent his young adult years herding sheep and breaking horses. After retiring from a Truck driving career of more than 40 years, volunteer work became his passion. He spent his time giving. He traveled on two mission trips to Belize where he helped find homes for orphans, he also prayed for prisoners in a Guatemalan prison. He served with the Red Cross in both hurricane Katrina and tropical storm Rita. He also volunteered at The St. Elizabeth Hospital Auxiliary, where he began the Annual Crab Feed. He loved people, loved to laugh and loved the Lord. Being the youngest of five siblings, He is survived by Earl Drake of Susanville, Joyce Grevik of Anderson, Carol Davis of Yreka and Gaye Honea of Eugene, Oregon. He will be greatly missed by many friends and the family he leaves behind. Surviving are his son; Manley Richard "Rick" Drake, daughter; Tamra Drake Pope, step daughters; Lorrie Drake and Susan Reid. Grandsons; Robert Johnson and Steven Drake. Granddaughters; Jamie Mcfadyen, and Kristy Button as well as seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his "little wife" Mary LaVonne Drake. "Life is what you dream of..." We will miss our friend and Papa.
