Carlton "Tommy" Thomas June 25, 1928 - December 23, 2012 A much-loved husband, father and grandfather, Carlton "Tommy" Thomas, 84, of Red Bluff went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 23, 2012 at Mercy Hospital surrounded by his large family. Tommy was born on June 25, 1928 in Westville, Florida to Barney and Lokie Thomas. He was the youngest of nine children and grew up ranching and farming. Tommy farmed 500 acres of peanuts on his own during his senior year in high school. He graduated from Ponce de Leon High School, then from the University of Florida in 1953 and did his graduate work at UC Davis. On August 5, 1950 he married the love of his life, Elaine Grace Webb in San Leandro, CA. He served as a Corporal in the U. S. Army as a payroll clerk. Tommy had a 30-year career as an Ag Teacher starting at Los Molinos High School in 1954 and retiring from Red Bluff High School in 1984. Throughout his life he was an avid outdoorsman, including hunting and gardening, but his passion was fishing. Anybody that knew Tommy, knew that he was a hardworking individual who was actively involved serving on numerous community boards while in his spare time he enjoyed watching his alma mater Florida Gators and the SF 49ers. Tommy loved the Lord and spent this life serving others and living his faith. He served for 30 years as the Chairman of the Board of the Los Molinos United Methodist Church and was instrumental in building cabins for the Mt. Lassen Church Camp.
