Jeanne Rae (Brown) Cunningham October 12, 1940 ~ December 15, 2016 Jeanne Rae (Brown) Cunningham crossed over to the other side on December 15, 2016. She passed away at home in her sleep; finally freed from the pain she had enduredfor so long. Jeanne was born on October 12, 1940 in Chico CA to Jean M. Clark and Clifford A. Brown. She spent her early childhood in Chester and McCloud, raised by her mother and Grandma & Grandpa Clark. Everyone knew her mother would die young, so had to learn everything her mother thought important, that included everything from ballet, to manners to school work. By age nine she had lost her mother and both Clark grandparents and had moved to Vina to live with her father's family. She completed school in Vina and Los Molinos surrounded by her Grandmother Cindy Brown, Grandfather James Brown, Aunt Romayne, Uncle Archie and Cousins Gary and Sue Brown. Stepmother Jean, Stepbrother Dennis Weston, half sister Mary Lynn Brown and half brother Terry Brown. In 1959 she married Hector Cunningham after he wouldn't take no for an answer; they were together for 57 years through all of life's ups and downs. They resided in Red Bluff and had 3 children; Sarah, Christine and Thelma. Jeanne devoted her time to her children. She started volunteering at Jackson Heights which then evolved to becoming one of Red Bluff's first teachers aides. For over 30 years she was Mrs. C to hundreds of children. The last 20+ years in kindergarten with Maylon Friday. Here she shared the joy of chasing gingerbread men, creating stick horses and dressing up as Mother Goose characters. She loved her job and was devastated when her health forced her to retirement. Jeanne was a lifelong reader and would read up to 5 books a day; stubbornly refusing to try an e-reader. Said they didn't feel right. She is survived by her husband, Hector Cunningham, Daughters; Sarah (Mark) Belletti, Thelma Cunningham, grandsons; Jr. Watson III and Cody Cox, great-granddaughters; Khloe S. Watson and Tallalah JE Watson. Half sister Mary Lynn (Clay) Henderson and stepbrother Dennis Weston.
