Dorothy Glover of Carmel Valley, age 94, born March 27, 1919, passed away May 30, 2013 after a short illness. Dorothy liked the ideas in this poem:
I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one
I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when day is done.
I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways
Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun
Of happy memories that I leave behind when the day is done.
Dorothy was involved in organizations such as Republican Women, DAR, Carmel Valley Garden Club, Illi Thomison's Writing Club, Carmel Valley Women's Club, and several book clubs. Dorothy and Perry Glover lived in Redding, CA for about 10 years before moving to Carmel in 1997.
She is survived by sons, Bruce Glover of Santa Ana, CA and Dr. Neal Glover of Monterey, CA; grandchildren, William and Rachel Glover of Carmel and daughters-in-law, Cheryl Hawkins-Glover and Karen Glover.
A celebration of her life will be held at Hacienda Carmel on Saturday June 23, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
