Francisco Ortiz Marquez

Francisco Marquez, age 63, went home to be with his Savior on Saturday, March 22, 2014.
Born on August 4, 1950, in Monterey Park, California, Francisco was the son of the late Edward and Patsy (Ortiz) Marquez. He graduated from Baldwin Park High School in 1968 and married his high school sweetheart, Kathy (Hillenburg) Marquez, April 26, 1969 at Chapel of Flowers, in West Covina, California.
Francisco enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in 1970. He earned 3 meritorious rank promotions during his career. His MOS's included Infantry Rifleman (Investigator), Administrative Clerk, Logistics Clerk (Superintendent, Traffic Manager), Recruiter (Employment Interviewer), NCOIC Historian and Logistic Operation Embarkation. He had top secret clearance, earned the highest rank of Master Gunnery Sergeant (E9) in record time. He proudly served our country for 23 years, in Colorado, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Korea and Okinawa.
Francisco was a member of the Am Vets, Korean War Veterans National Chapter 1 and Road Knights Car Club. He lead the Young Marines organization in Lenawee County, Michigan, for several years.
Francisco (also known as Frank) is survived by his wife Kathy Marquez, daughter, Tamara Ball of Blissfield, MI, sons, Shawn and Anthony (Veronica) Marquez of Redding, eight grandchildren, Sabrina, Parker, Shawna, Francisco "Cisco", Jasmine, Emma, Francisco "Mikey", Rosi, great grandchild Gabriel, brothers, Edward Kenneth Marquez of Los Angeles, Robert (Rachel) Marquez of Baldwin Park, Ronnie (Tracy) Marquez of Highland, sisters, Mary (Tony) DeLaFuente, Tricia Marquez both of Southern California and MANY nieces and nephews across the country.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Jesse Marquez.
Visitation will take place 10 am to 7 pm, Monday, March 31, 2014 at Allen & Dahl Funeral Home on Eureka Way.
Graveside service with full military honors will be Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 11 am at the Northern California Veterans Cemetery in Igo, CA.

Kathy & family! Praying that God sustains you at this difficult time. My brother is in a better place with out any pain or daily struggles!
