Samuel Forseth Obituary

Sam was born November 30, 1984 in Redding, CA. He graduated from Anderson High School in 2002.

He worked for the California Conservation Corp prior to joining the California National Guard in 2006. He was trained as a combat engineer at Fort Leonardwood, MO, returning as a member of the 132nd based in Redding. In 2008 he joined the 235th Engineer Company (Sapper) based in Petaluma in order to deploy to Afghanistan. His unit spent one year there doing route clearance along the Pakistan border. Their work there has been referred to as "the most dangerous job in Afghanistan."

Sam married his high school sweetheart Kimmie Timpe in September of 2008 and missed the birth of their daughter Chanel while serving overseas.

Upon his return home, Sam signed up for a yearlong deployment doing border patrol along the California Mexican border. He ended his military career in December 2012 after deciding to move his life in another direction. Anyone that knew Sam knew that he was a true warrior. He served his country well.

Sam had many interests in life. He could repair or fabricate most anything. He also had a keen love and understanding of nature instilled in him by his late grandma Helen. His daughter Chanel was his true joy and the love and tenderness he expressed with her made for a special bond between them. Sam's large family and many friends will remember him for his contagious smile, his caring heart, and his willingness to help anyone in need.

He is survived by his wife, Kimberly; daughter, Chanel; parents, Frank and Sharon of Palo Cedro; brother, Cy and Rachael Wagner of Roseville; brother, Mark of Chico; sister, Cathy and husband Kevin of Bismark ND; mother, Mary Jimison of Atlanta, GA and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Services will be held at 2:00 on Friday, July 5, 2013 at the Veterans Cemetery in Igo. There will be a reception following at the I.O.O.F. Hall at 3651 Silverlode Ln in Palo Cedro.

Memories and Condolences
for Samuel Forseth

Not sure what to say?

I am so very sorry for your loss of this wonderful young son, sibling, husband and father. I recall reading about Kimberly when Sam was deployed and she was expecting their baby, and I recognized Kimberly's father as someone I knew in high school. A very sad day for everyone for a life ended much too soon.

Dear Frank & Sharon, words alone can not
express the sorrow in my hrat at the loss of your son Sam. I would like to offer this poem i wrote to his memory

No Greater Love
No greater love haath any man than one brother for another, it's different than our other loves such as for our Father or our Mother,
but it's still a real affection, and it's something we hold dear, just to know we'll have that brothers love to share year after year.
and when a brother leaves us for his place in heaven above, he leaves us with only a memory of him, now it's that memory that we'll love.
We will be saddened and we'll miss him for oh so many years, yes our eyes may smile when we think about him, tho our harts are filled with tears.
but the good Lord has beckoned him "come home my son" because of my love for you, a place in my hart, and a place in my house you've won.
So we will think of him often as we console one an other, because no greater love hath any man than one brother for another.

With all my love,

Uncle Jack Forseth

Frank and Sharon; My heart aches for the sorrow and pain both of you are experiencing right now as it at times dosen't feel real, and the anger of losing your child seems more than we can bear, but I know you will survive this Frank as I remember you as a truly strong dedicated man. As I reflect back on my memories of you and your sons earlier years, I remember you coming home from work, and how your eyes would light up the moment you saw your sons. I remember your tenderness and laughter as you watched your sons. You truly loved them and they were your pride and joy. So Honor Sam with your continued laughter and smile and remember him as you celebrate his life in your memories. Time will make it more bearable, as I too truly know from losing my daughter Kristy. My love goes out to you and Sharon. If there is anything I can do Contact me. Cy and Corey both know how. Love Trudy

Frank and Sharon, There is no words that can ease the pain of losing a child. Grace him with your memories and continue to celebrate him in your hearts. Time will ease but will not erase the sorrow. Frank I reflect back to those early years when I knew sammy as a little toddler, and how you would come home from work and grab your sons and toss then in the air and love on them. You had such a twinkle in your eyes when you were with your boys. My heart aches for you as you know I know the pain of losing my daughter Kristy. Lots of hugs and love. If you need to talk Cy knows where I am and Corey too.

Sammy, my first love, the father of my child. I have loved you for the last ten years, and I will continue to do so everyday for the rest of my life. Not one day, since the first day I met you, has gone by that you have not been on my mind. I will see you everyday in our beautiful daughters face. I know that you are with us, guiding us with your hands on my shoulders, protecting us, and most of all loving us. We will meet you in our dreams at night, we will reflect on you each day...I will miss every little thing about you, talks about our past, present, and future, our passion and chemistry, your laugh, your Macgyver skills, our fights, our playfulness and teasing. I know that we would have never given up on one another Sam, and I will raise Chanel with all the lessons you have taught me in life, and death. I know you are smiling down on us with the many we have lost, and I know that I will always find answers in you. This is not goodbye my Love. Forever yours...
