Mays, Larry Lee - Redding  
Larry Lee Mays Redding, CA On Monday, July 27th, Larry Lee Mays slipped out of this world and into the arms of his Savior, whom he served faithfully for 45 years, leaving behind his wife of 62 years, Sandra Dee Mays and his children, Debra Lynn Webster, husband, Brian, Denise Elaine Watson, husband, Dan, David Bruce Mays, wife, Terry Jo, 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, sister, Joyce Hughes, numerous nieces and nephews, and best friends and traveling companions, Jim and Dolores Carter, all who loved him beyond measure and will miss him till they meet him again in heaven. Larry was born April 9, 1934 in Waterloo, Iowa to Jess E. Mays and Florence Dunn Mays. He was one of 12 children with 10 of them preceding him in death. He and his family moved to Richmond, California in 1942 as his dad was needed in the shipyards to aid in the war effort. Larry attended Richmond schools where he met his forever sweetheart in Junior High. At 16 years of age, he joined Ironworkers Local Union #378 and went to work with his father and brothers. In 1952 he married Sandra in Richmond where his 3 children were born. In 1960 he moved his family to Lake Shasta as he had obtained a job as a welder building Calveras Cement Plant. He joined Ironworkers Union Local #118 and held 3 certifications making him a much sought after welder. He was severely injured in 1970 by a careless rig operator which brought him to a new career. He was one of the first real estate graduates from Shasta College. He obtained his real estate license, then became a Real Estate Broker, opening offices at Shasta Lake and Redding. He was an active member of the Shasta County Association of Realtors, CBMC (Christian Business Men's Committee) SPA (Shasta Professional Association) and the Church of The Nazarene where he taught Sunday School and spent time in the mission field. A memorial service will be held at the Church of The Nazarene, 2225 N. Bechelli Lane, Redding, CA on Saturday, August 8th, at 4:00 pm. A visitation will be held Friday, August 7th, at McDonald's Chapel on Continental Street. From 4:00 to 8:00 pm. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.

Miller, Odis Gus - Shasta Lake  
Odis Gus Miller Shasta Lake, CA Odis Gus Miller, 82, of Shasta Lake, California, passed away, Sunday, July 26, 2015. Odis is survived by his children Rebecca and Cory Gabrielson, Mary Adams and Kathy Miller, and his grandchildren Kent Adams, Shelby Anders and Jessica Gabrielson and great grandson Levi Anders. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy in 2011, his son Stephen Michael in 1968, and his brothers Arron, Lewis and Winford. Odis was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to many. He was also an avid golfer and hunter and enjoyed reading and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a Korean war veteran and worked for Simpson paper for 31 years before retiring in 1995. We will be celebrating Odis' life on Saturday, August 1, at from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, at the clubhouse at Twin Lakes Mobile Estates park at 3304 Shasta Dam Boulevard in Shasta Lake.
