Frazier Jr., Donald A. - Redding
Donald A. Frazier, Jr. Redding, CA Donald A. Frazier, Jr. passed away on April 26, 2016, after a fall in his home. He was 85. Don was born to Donald A. & Isabella Frazier on December 20, 1930 in Pasadena, CA. He was the oldest of four boys: Tom, Kenai, AK; Greg, Apple Valley, CA; Richard (deceased). Don grew up and attended schools in the Southern California area and then joined the Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1953. He made cross-country driving his career until he was hired on as a driver and mechanic in Orange, CA. He loved tinkering with motors and became a master at fixing engines and whatever else needed to be fixed - not only for himself but friends/family/neighbors. He could be 'grease' from head to toe but never came in the house without taking off his shoes. And homemade apple pie was his favorite dessert. In Santa Ana, CA, in 1961, Don's Chiropractor introduced him to Mary Chleborad (Russell)... but it didn't end there. They got married, had two children (a son Donald A. III and a daughter Wendy V.) and later followed the Chiropractor and a close classmate to settle in Redding, CA. Don's son, Don and his wife Diana live in Redding, CA and his daughter Wendy lives in Galt, CA with her Fiancé Russell. Don was immediately hired on with Boyd Trucking Company in Cottonwood as a mechanic and worked there until his retirement at age 65. In 1979 Don married Dorothy Goodrich (deceased) and the family added a step daughter: Leslie Astle (Ron) Folsom, CA and a step son Paul Goodrich, Myrtle Beach, SC; a step granddaughter Darin Kooyenga (Russell) Clarksville, TN; a step grandson Mathew Kleespie, Folsom, CA; four step great grandchildren: Reagan, Payton, Luke and Abbey. Don was a quiet man but big in stature...and when he wasn't around...we missed his presence. Missing you already! Services will be held July 8, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. at the Veterans Cemetery in Igo, CA with a Celebration of Life to follow. Please sign the guestbook at http://obits.redding.com
