Carrel, Eldgie "Bud" Buddy  
Bud Carrel 1931 - 2014 In Remembrance Eldgie Buddy Carrel "Bud" passed away 1 year ago today. Born Oct. 5, 1931 in St. Joseph, MO to Harold & Florence Carrel, they moved to Redding when Bud was a year old. Growing up in Redding, he graduated Shasta High, joined the Army at 17, and while serving in Korea and Japan participated in construction of the road to Mt. Fuji also climbing to the top. He worked for PG&E 14 years and was a volunteer for Enterprise Fire Department when first established. In 1982 he married Nancy at Redding Moose Lodge #1006 having been a past governor. Bud was a heavy equipment operator and truck driver for many years working for numerous Redding contractors. In 1997, he and Nancy moved to Cave Junction, OR. Bud enjoyed wildlife, nature, helping people, and working in his shop. He was "One In A Million" and is still missed by many. His wife Nancy now resides in La Pine, OR., (541)536-1874 Survivors include daughter Ella May of Virginia; son Kenneth of Japan; brother Welton Carrel and wife Judith; cousin Kevin Carrel and wife Cleona; and an aunt Dorothy Callas all of Redding, California; sister, Diana Martin of Lemore, California; and brother-in-law, Reginald Petrie of Vallejo, California. Hunter, Forrest "Monty"  
Celebrating A Life Well Lived In Loving Memory of: Forrest "Monty" Hunter October 24, 1947 - March 9, 2015 Monty passed away at his Soda Creek residence, with his loving wife Marsha Hunter, his daughter Sheila VanDyk and his lifelong friend Gary Carr by his side. Monty was born in Shelly, Idaho and moved to his Soda Creek home at the age of twelve. During Monty's Dunsmuir High School years, basketball was his passion and dunking the ball was easy due to his extreme jumping capabilities. The field of work he chose, as a heavy equipment operator, allowed the experience of many travel opportunities. Monty cherished every moment he spent with his family and friends. The outdoor was a big part of his life as well, in his youth he enjoyed hunting, fishing and fast cars. Monty spent his lifetime restoring cars and mechanically fixing anything with a motor on it. During his retirement years he enjoyed woodcutting, gardening and restoring his Victorian childhood home. He was a gentle soul with a heart of gold, always ready to lend a quiet helping hand. Preceded in death by: father Forrest Leroy Hunter, nephew Brody Christensen. Monty leaves behind: mother Judith McBride Christensen, (Reed), Shelly, ID, wife of thirty one year's Marsha Marie Hunter, Castella, CA, daughter Sheila Marie VanDyk, (Fred), Reedsport, OR, son Forrest Troy Hunter, (Helen), Shelly, ID, son Glenn Richardson Hix, Gridley, CA, daughter Conra Jean Hunter, Boise, ID, daughter Deidra Jody Perry, (Jason), Gridley, ID. Siblings: sister Marsha Christensen, (Lynn), Pierce, AZ, brother Wally Hunter, Yuma, AZ, brother Tony Hunter, (Linda), Sandy, UT, brother Jack Hunter, (Sally), Meridian, CA, brother Randy Hunter, (Sue), Ocala, FL, sister Judy Kirkham, (Dave), Orem, UT, sister Frankie Crouse, (Dana), Cottonwood, CA. Grandchildren: Alyssa Chavarin, BreAnne Pickens, Randy Hix, Drew Pickens, Gabriel Perry, Jayce Hix, Jordan Perry, Andrew Hix, Taylor Perry. Great Grandchildren: Melanie Tayler, Chloe Tayler. Monty also leaves behind many loved extended family members. He also leaves behind his church family from The Church of Jesus Christ, LDS. Monty loved and truly lived the gospel. Lute, Lottie Louise - Redding  
Lottie Louise Lute 1930 - 2015 Lottie Louise Lute, 84, of Redding, CA, passed away at home on March 17, 2015, surrounded by family. Born Lottie Louise Blanchard, on December 21st, 1930, in New Orleans, LA to Henry and Catherine "Kitty" Blanchard. Lottie attended Pasadena Nazarene College where she met husband, Earl Lute, Jr. Lottie and Earl were happily married for 63 years. She spent her career as a teacher in the Covina Unified School district. As a teacher she touched many young lives. Her husband Earl also taught in Covina and they moved to Redding, CA after retiring. Lottie and Earl enjoyed traveling in their RV, boating, fishing and water-skiing. Lottie and Earl enjoyed their faith and spent many years as members of the Arrow Highway Wesleyan Church in Covina, CA and later as members of the First Church of the Nazarene in Redding, CA. Lottie always had a smile for everyone she met. Her gregarious, loving personality left an impression on all. Lottie was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Ruth Sessum, Hazel Duxworth, Joy Weichers, brothers West, Henry and Dan Blanchard. She is survived by husband Earl Lute, brothers Jesse, Bill and Tom Blanchard, son Ron Lute (Joey), daughter Janet Liebgott (John), 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the First Church of the Nazarene in Redding, CA on April 13, 2015 at 3:30pm. Trudell, Evelyn Ann  
Evelyn Ann Trudell 1917 - 2015 Evelyn Ann Trudell, 97 passed away at home on March 16, 2015. Evelyn was born in Los Angeles, CA on October 19, 1917. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, auntie, sister, and friend. Evelyn grew up in San Pedro and Glendale, CA and was the eldest of her three siblings, Arthur Domaschenz, Eleanor Domaschenz (Cole) and Walter Domaschenz. She graduated from Glendale High School and began work as an office/medical assistant. Evelyn married Edward John Berry in 1941 and settled in Palos Verdes Estates, CA where they raised their daughter and son. She worked as a secretary in the aerospace industry until her retirement in 1979. In 1968 Evelyn and Edward moved to San Pedro, CA, where, after 26 years of marriage, Edward passed away in 1969. In 1972, Evelyn married Al Trudell and experienced 21 more wonderful years of marriage until his death in 1993. Evelyn continued to live in San Pedro until 2007, when she moved to Redding to be closer to her son and daughter. She moved into Hilltop Estates where she met many wonderful friends who became family to her. Evelyn loved the ocean and delighted in the harbor view from her condo in San Pedro. She also made thirty trips to Hawaii, where she was fond of the sun, surf and friends she met there over the years. She adored cats, starting as a little girl by bringing them home to her family. Evelyn was also an avid card player, enjoying and winning a friendly game of poker with her girlfriends the afternoon before she passed away. She was victorious to the end! Later in life Evelyn was surprised to learn she had another three half-siblings, and nieces and nephews half a world away in New Zealand. Evelyn became very close with her New Zealand brother Buddy (Walter McGregor-Dawson (Domaschenz)), his wife Janice and their children, traveling there four times to visit and welcoming them to her home here in the US on several occasions. Her New Zealand family brought her great joy and laughter. Evelyn is predeceased by her first husband Edward Berry and second husband Al Trudell, and all her US and New Zealand siblings and her son-in-law David Cortell. She is survived by her daughter Joanne Cortell of Cooper, TX; son E. John Berry of Palo Cedro (Christina); and grandchildren Christine Pickett (John) and Kenneth Gavlick (Jennifer) of Cooper, TX; and Fraser Berry of Redding; great-grandchildren Devin and Shalee Pickett and Sophia Gavlick, all of Cooper, TX; sister-in-law Janice McGregor-Dawson of Paihia, New Zealand; numerous adoring nieces and nephews and finally her kitty "Precious." Charlotte Wylde 1947 - 2015 Charlotte was born on February 12, 1947 and passed away March 25, 2015 at age 68. She is survived by her daughter Stacey (Dean) Hughes of Moxee, WA, granddaughter Lindsay Freeburg of Yakima, WA, sisters Terry (Gene) Kraack of Placentia, CA and Margo Lopez and Maria Pintos of Yakima, WA. She was preceded in death by her husband Terry and her mother Irene Calahan of Redding. Charlotte's family would like to thank Shasta County Medical Examiner's Office for their care and compassion.
