April Lynn East

December 7, 1957 - September 5, 2013

April East was born in San Bernardino, CA on Dec. 7, 1957, the second daughter of Wade T. & Merlyn J. (Lynn) East.

She moved to the Redding area with her family in 1970. She attended Parson's, Nova and Enterprise schools, graduating in 1976. She also attended Ricks college in Rexburg, Idaho. She was a tour guide at Shasta Dam, worked for "The Cake Company", and at the FBI office in Washington, DC.

The last 20 years of employment she worked as a custodian for her church in the Redding and Eureka areas. She was forced to retire due to illness in 2003 and has been living with her parents in Palo Cedro since that time.

April is survived by her parents Wade and Lynn East, brother William (Bill) East, sister Laurel Netzloff, and her 99 year old grandmother Aline Metcalf, as well as many loving cousins, nephews and niece.

She is a dedicated, faithful member of her church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Her funeral will be held at the LDS church 21912 Plaza Drive in Palo Cedro on Wednesday, September 11th at 11:00 AM. Due to allergy problems, we ask that no live flowers be sent. If you would care to send flowers, please limit it to a silk arrangement.

April is a beautiful artist, and accomplished toll painter, greeting card maker and poet. She has always been a happy, positive, cheerful person, and despite her illness, she has remained that way. The last years of her life with pulmonary fibrosis she felt her purpose was to inspire others and she has touched many lives.

She will be missed.
