Evelyn Anne Jones

Evelyn Jones lost her courageous battle to cancer on September 7, 2010, but not without a strong fight. She began her journey with the angels peacefully at home, surrounded by her family. She has joined her sisters, one brother and her grandmother in their eternal life. Evelyn was so very loved by her family and closest friends.
Born in Wisconsin, she moved to Shasta County as a child. She attended Central Valley High School, where she met her soul mate. Alvin and Evelyn began their life together 44 years ago and created a family with two children, whom she adored. Mitch and Melissa carry on her legacy of love, compassion, and guidance onto their own children. Ty, Shelby, Lukas and Jesse have been blessed by the adoration of their Meema. She will forever remain in their hearts as the one who loved them unconditionally. Alvin and Evelyn have lived in Medford, OR for the past 15 years.
Aside from the people she held closest to her heart, Evelyn loved to camp, ride quads and play video games with her grandchildren, create her garden oasis and read. Spending time with her family was her favorite pastime.
Evelyn is survived by Alvin of Central Point, OR; Mitch, Sandi, Ty, and Shelby Jones of Eagle Point, OR; Melissa, Gary, Lukas, and Jesse O'Dell of Anderson, CA; brothers, Rick Martin and John Trumble of Gold Hill, OR; and sister Linda Martin of Eagle Point, OR.
A celebration of life picnic will be held on Sunday, September 19, 2010 at 1 p.m. in Dunsmuir Park.
