James Wagner Obituary

James Kenneth Wagner

October 24, 1929 - October 7, 2010

Jim left us much to soon at the age of 80 years young. Jim owned the Douglas City Store from 1978 to approx 2000 and continued working there part time after his retirement. Jim enjoyed hunting, was an avid trap shooter and an extremely involved grandparent.

Survived by wife of 48 years, Mary, children; Michael, Bunky, Wendy, son in law Kyle and eight grandchildren.

Jim will forever be remembered for his sense of humor, and fun loving nature.

Friends are invited to pay their respects at the Forrest Funeral Home in Weaverville on October 14, 2010 anytime between 2 pm and 6 pm. Friends are also invited to join in a celebration of Jim's life at the Douglas City Firehouse on October 14, 2010 at 5pm.

For anyone who knew Jim, he was a special guy and a wonderful father and grandfather. No one was more devoted and generous than he. He loved everyone and everything. We will miss Jim's updates on the Weaverville happenings. It saddens me so that my dear friends, Wendy and Bunky (and Michael) have lost their father and friend. May the Giants persevere in honor of Jim!

I have known Jim since I was about 10 years old. He was a wonderful, warm man and I will miss seeing him at the DC Store and cruising around town with his "driving gloves" on - ha! I know he is up there right now updating my mom on the happenings in Douglas City. God Speed, Jim

Dear Wendy & Bunky,
I will always remember your Dad! He always brought a smile to my face during our monthly lunch "dates". He was a wonderful person and you are both so lucky to have had him as a father. My thoughts are with all of you. Renie
