Joan Clay, of Redding passed away peacefully December 3, 2010 at her home with family by her side.
She was born in San Francisco, California on December 26, 1944.

Joan was married for 41 years to her true love Jack. Her five children were her pride and joy: Russell Risley, Michelle Helmka, Scott Clay, Denise Moher, Jack Clay Jr. and her ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her siblings Gary Johnson, Donna Crumley, and Randy Brown.

Joan was passionate about chocolate, sunbathing on Shasta Lake, scary movies, and most of all taking care of her family.

Joan held a special place in the hearts of family and many friends. She will be greatly missed!
No services will be held. Remembrances to Mercy Hospice.

Jack and Family. We did not know until last week that Joan had passed away. We were so very sad to hear the news. We have some wonderful memories. She was so lucky to have family around her. Please take care of each other. Jack we know that your life has changed so much. We must go on after a loss like this. It's hard to know how to live when you have spent so many years with one person. My condolences to the family of Joan. I remember her well as a customer of mine at Valley Rentals in Shasta Lake. Joan rented many of those "scary movies" from me and we had the most wonderful conversations during her many visits. She was a most remarkable Lady.

Grandma-Even though your gone it still doesnt seem real. I know your at peace and you finaly have your health back. I love you more than words can say. I miss you bunches. Thanks for everything you taught me. Evertime I am at the lake or eat a piece of chocolate I will think of you. I may even watch a scary movie or two.. May you rest in peace and watch over all of us.
