Norma Dunbar Obituary

Norma Dunbar was born to Morris and Eva Bond on July 23, 1921, in Cleveland, Ohio. She died September 10, 2010, after a long struggle with Alzheimers.
Norma graduated from Madison College, Tennessee, in 1943, as a Registered Nurse, and she worked in surgery for the next 11 years of her life.
Norma married the love of her life, Richard (Bob) Dunbar, January 13, 1946, and they moved to Redding in 1949. They fell in love with the area and decided after Bob finished dental school in 1955 to start his practice and add to their family here.
Norma loved her family, her church and her community. She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and was a frequent volunteer at the Redding Adventist Academy. Everyone she came in contact with, even in her final days, felt the warmth of her smile. She will be sorely missed.
Norma is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 66 years, Bob, her children Kelly (Jennifer) Dunbar and Sherrie (Rod) Benson of Redding, Rick (Sharon) Dunbar and Brian (Lori) Dunbar of Red Bluff and Dennis (Cher) Reynolds of Rogers, Arkansas; sister Geraldine Thomas of Loma Linda, CA; and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Norma's family expresses their deep appreciation for the outpouring of sympathy and kind words we have received during this sad time.
