My prayers go out to the family, may the Lord bring peace and comfort during this difficult time.
I played football with Pat at Shasta College and we also worked together selling electronics at Sears. Pat was obviously more known for basketball and track & field...but he has to have been one of the greatest athletes to ever play place kicker in the history of college football! At work we had many laughs (and arguments!). After the shock of hearing the news, seeing a recent photo just made me smile. Whether you were happy with him or irritated...you always ended up with a laugh and a smile when it came to Pat because you just couldn't stay mad at him. It's his laughter I'll remember most...

I send my deepest condolences. So sorry to lose another 1986 EHS classmate and friend. I was a big fan of his at all EHS basketball games. He let me know that while I was racing at Shasta Speedway in the late 90's that he was my biggest fan. What an honor. I will miss his personality. There are not many people like him. I am sure his family already knows that. He will be greatly missed. God Bless.

Dear Vera: Please accept my heartfelt sympathy and condolences in the death of Patrick. I read his obituary in the newspaper and saw your name too. I also called Carol Hullinger to make sure this was a relative of yours, so then I could send this message. Please know that you and the family are in my prayers for comfort during this difficult time.

Met Pat in English class at Nova(he taught me how to spell "beginning" right every time) -- funniest guy in the class and kept us laughing all through EHS.
He'd have the same big smile on his face whenever I saw him after EHS, too.
My condolences to the families.

My condolences to the Nevens family.
We still talk about the ball Pat hit over the left field fence at Tiger Field. Word was that it landed on the other side of Cypress Avenue. I enjoyed coaching him...

I remember Pat from 9th grade. Also EHS. We shared spanish class at Nova High School with Mr. Sloan. A big part of the class was picking names, Pat was "Patricio" in class. ...Somehow I was given the name of "Felipe", not sure how that happened. Pat thought that was pretty funny.
Pat had a great sense of humor. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing, my condolences to his family.

To Pat's family - my sincere condolences. I remember the West Valley bleachers being filled for an Enterprise game. Not to watch the game so much as to watch Pat deliver one of his trademark dunks. I still recall the home run he hit when I coached him. Over the fence and bouncing across Cypress Avenue.

Pat was one of the finest athletes I ever worked with in track and field at Enterprise High School. His work ethic and strong competitive spirit complemented his athletic abilities both as an athlete and as a leader to others at the school and in the community. As he and I traveled to athletic events around the country Pat made many friends on the track as well as the communities in which we stayed...he was well loved for his sense of humor and concern for others. He was a National Champion in the decathlon at the prestigious Golden West invitational in 1986 as well as a Hall of Fame athlete at Enterprise High School. My deepest sympathy for his family...he will be missed and remembered.

To the famalies of Pat. I give my deepest sympathies and compassion for the loss of your loved one.
I first met Pat as an athlete at Shasta College. I remember his young cocky attitudes, his drive to compete in track & field events of which we shared many. He was a fine young man, and I believe those qualities that make a person competitive, team players, are qualities Pat carried with him through his life. God Bless

I went to Enterprise High School with Pat and we had several classes together over our 3 years there and shared a lot of laughs when he, Chris Price and I went through Driver's Training together. The car we were assigned was some compact thing and he kept moving his seat further and further back because of those damn long legs of his and would take up all of the back seat leg room for Chris, the other girl with us, and me. Ha, ha.
Whenever I'd see Pat around, he always had a huge smile on his face and never seemed to let problems keep him down for very long.
I no longer live in Redding, otherwise, I'd like to attend the services. My condolences go out to his family. The Pat Nevens I remember was a fantastic guy. This is very sad. Sincerely, Jeanne Martin
