Sallyann Keith Obituary

Sallyann June Keith

1936 - 2010

Sallyann Keith was born April 12, 1936 and passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2010.

She was educated in a public school in Oak Park, Illinois, and in the finest women's college in the country, Bryn Mawr, from which she graduated Cum Laude. She lived a rich life, full of love for her husband Stuart, learning from him, a love of nature. She also had loved teaching the young and travel, traveled over much of the world. Her final home in Redding brought her many wonderful friends to love, and she often said how grateful she was for that.

She was devoted to her church, but like a good Protestant she fashioned her Christian beliefs as her personal statement. One wish she had was to be cremated and she hoped that her ashes would be scattered with her husband's.

The Writer's Forum, the Music Group, and the North State Symphony were enthusiasms that kept her busy and engaged with life, and with her many friends.

Her love for her 4 Bichon Frise dogs was charming and this supported her after she lost her husband. She suffered her recent, long convalescence with patience and a cheerful manner expecting to return home soon. Her departure was unexpected.
We will all miss her.

Memorial service for Sallyann is at the Pilgrim Congregational Church 2850 Foothill Blvd. Redding, on Saturday November 20, at 1:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pilgrim Congregational Church or the North State Symphony, Music in Memory Program of the Redding league in her name.

I was so very sad to learn of dear long time friend Sally's death. We taught together in Egypt 50 years ago. She was then and continued to be through all the years since then a talented, caring and faithful friend. My husband Max and I had many adventures with Sally and Stuart both in Redding and at our farm in Middletown, PA over the years. He joins me in sending sincere condolences to her brother Earl, his wife Sandy, her niece Amy and to Stuart's family --- all people she often spoke of in glowing terms. Erika Lauffer
