William S. Drew
November 1, 1920 - January 5, 2014
Bill Drew was born in Oakland, CA spending his early years working as a tile setter, then tile contractor while graduating from San Jose State College with a business degree. He moved to Redding in 1958, to build the Thunderbird Lodge, followed by other motels and apartments across Northern California.
Bill was an avid fisherman who loved the outdoors throughout his life with a tremendous passion for tennis. He continued to participate regularly in the morning tennis group at Sequoia School and played singles with his long-time friend. "It keeps me moving, it keeps me alive," Drew always said.
He leaves behind two sons, two daughters, five grandchildren and a great granddaughter plus many tennis friends.
He will be forever missed for his wit and love of life.
A "Celebration of Life" memorial will be held at a later date.
