William S. Swigart, Jr.
1934 - 2012

Longtime Redding resident William S. (Bill) Swigart passed away peacefully at home April 14, 2012. He was 77. Born in Yreka, November 18, 1934, to William S. Swigart, Sr. and Agnes Swigart, Bill moved to Redding in 1952 to attend Shasta College and graduated in 1954. He also trained at Oregon Tech (now OIT) in Klamath Falls. Bill owned and operated service stations in the Redding area from 1959 to 1993. He was an avid antique car collector and restorer and an active member of the Redding Rambling A's car club. Bill is survived by his wife of 56 years, Karen Swigart, daughters Kristen (Jack) Schreder of Redding and Susan Swigart of Sacramento, grandchildren Andrea and Bryson Schreder, sisters Marcia McKenzie and Jeanette Crawford, and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Bill's life will be held Wednesday, April 25, 5:30-7:30 p.m., at the Redding Elks Lodge Coral Room, 250 Elk Drive, Redding.

I worked for Bill at his Union 76 station in Redding when I was 19 to 21. I really admired him. Loved to see his old cars.

Karen, Sue, & Kristen: Please accept my sincere sympathy on the passing of Bill. I've often thought of you all and how everyone was doing. It was good to see Sue last summer. I'll never forget the times I spent at your house in our younger days. I hope I can make the services.

We're so sorry to learn of Bill's passing and offer our condolance's to Karen and the girls.Bill and Karen were so good to us and helped us out in a time of need by giving me part-time work when it was so needed during my younger days raising a family.One of the best of the best boss's ever."God"be with you on your last voyage BILL and we'll all try to keep our A's going but it's not going to be easy with out you around.Again "God Bless"
