HOUGE, Carrie Lou

Carrie Lou Hogue of North Tustin, CA passed away peacefully on May 14,
2013 at the age of 81. Born August 8, 1931 in Kittanning, PA, Carrie was the oldest of eight children.Carrie married Lee Eugene Hogue in 1953 and a few years later they moved to the San Gabriel Valley where they raised their two children, Thomas Lee Hogue and Theresa Lynn Hogue (Rivas) in Temple City. Both Lee and Thomas precede Carrie in death.Carrie is survived by her daughter, Theresa, son-in-law, Frank, and grandsons, Gavin, Hayden, and Cameron Rivas of North Tustin, CA.
In the early 1950's Carrie worked for The Bell Company in
Pennsylvania, and years later rejoined the telephone company in Pasadena as an information operator, retiring from Pacific Bell in 1993. After retirement, Carrie moved to Cathedral City, CA, where she volunteered for various organizations.Carrie was an avid genealogist, and at age 75 finally became a grandmother. She helped to raise each
of her grandsons with great enthusiasm, energy and love. "Nana" will be forever missed by her family. Graveside service was held May 23rd at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Orange, CA.
