Thank you for the photos posted here. I've been Dorothy's accountant for many years, and I always enjoyed her lovely smiling eyes! May she be at peace.

We lived near the Killingsworth's while growing up and Dorothy always had a kind word of encouragemnet and the best chocolate chip cookies to offer when needed. She will be missed.

I taught at Longfellow with Dorothy for a few years in the 90s before she retired. Later I went to breakfast a couple of times at Cafe Bixby with her and some of the other teachers. She was always friendly and had a big smile for me.

Dear Family of Mrs. Killingsworth,
She was my 1st grade teacher at Mark Twain School back in 1964. Mrs. Killingsworth remained my all-time favorite teacher because she was very nurturing and generous with praise when I worked hard in school. I can still remember as a little girl peeking in the teachers' lounge one day and seeing a coffee mug that said "Dot" on it. I thought, "Wow, that must be short for Dorothy, my teacher's first name!" Mrs. K inspired me to become an elementary teacher too. Thank you for the fond memories.

My son Greg was in Mrs. Killingsworth's 1st grade class at Longfellow 20 years ago. He was shy but she brought out the best in him and he flourished in her class. I've often thought about her and wished she could have known that he went on to become one of the valedictorians at Poly High and is now an architect. She was a fabulous teacher. My condolences to the family.

My memoriies of dear Dorothy go back to our days at the old Atlantic Avenue Methodist Church in Long Beach. More recently, a group of former members have a group (The New Phi Iota) that meets once each moth for dinner. My prayers are with her family. Lila Williams

I have such fond memories of Dorothy from living all my life with her as my neighbor. She gladly shared her wealth of teacher information with me when I asked. She was a wonderful lady and she will be greatly missed on Weston Pl. God bless and comfort you at this time of loss.
