MIRAMON, Joan Patricia
Joan Patricia Miramon Passed away very peacefully on November 6th, 2012 at a
assisted living facility in Chino Hills California where she had resided for six years. Joan was born July 22nd, 1930 in Fallon Nv. The daughter of Maurice and Elizabeth Hanifan she attended Churchill City High school and graduated with her teaching degree from University of Nevada and La Verne College in Claremont, Ca.
Joan worked tirelessly with severely handicapped children in the LA school district for 30 years. She was passionate about all of her kids and greeted each day with a smile.
She married Alfred Miramon in 1953. They lived in Pakistan for ten years where three of their four children were born. She was a loving and caring mother to her four children. Daughter Mabel Miramon Upper, Sons Kevin, Jonathan, and Craig Miramon. Five grandchildren, Shawn, Sophia, Jennifer, and Vanessa Miramon and Melissa Miles. And many nieces and nephews. Surviving are her sister Jean Selmi, brothers Maurice and Phillip Hanifan. She was predeceased by her parents Maurice and Elizabeth Hanifan and brothers Kevin and John Hanifan. Services will be held November 19th at 9:00 am at Oakdale Memorial in Glendora Ca.

Our angel mom held so many of us in her soft embrace. She was a teacher of developmentally disabled kids for 30 years...She loved all her kids and was passionate about teaching us. I will remember her all my days as she valued all she met with her easy loving ways and irish smile.
