Anne Rees Holland
Our dear sister and aunt, Anne Holland of Altadena, CA died on February 15 at age 69 due to complications from cardiac surgery.
Anne was born in Beckley, WV on June 1, 1943, the 3rd wedding anniversary of her parents, the Rev. David Rees and Regina Rees. She was raised in Catonsville, MD. and then completed her R.N degree at the Presbyterian Hospital School of nursing in Philadelphia, PA. She moved to California and completed a B.S degree in Nursing at Pasadena City College, where she met and later married Dr. Frederick "Dutch" Holland. Her nursing career was spent at Huntington Hospital in Pasadena and Monte Vista Grove Home in Pasadena, where she also took loving care of both parents until their deaths.
After her retirement, she continued to work as a volunteer at Monte Vista Homes earning the love and respect of many residents. She loved crossword puzzles and enjoyed completing the Sunday Times puzzle each week. She was the "glue" of our family and will be sorely missed by us as well as many dear friends.
Anne was predeceased by her parents, husband, and brother, Stuart Rees. She is survived by two brothers, The Rev. Dr. David Rees (Helen) of Walnut Creek, CA, Dr. Thomas Rees of Edmonds, WA, and her sister, Linda Beam (Robert) of Plant City, FL. Other survivors are nieces Sarah Carroll and Rebecca Ashton both of Oakland, CA, Haylie Rees of Edmond, WA, and nephews Trevor Beam of Valrico, FL, Joshua Rees of Joppa Towne. MD and Seth Rees of Gwynn Oak, MD.
