Beda Havelka, 20+-year resident of
Pasadena, died June 22. He was preceded in death by his wife of 33 years, Dana Havelka, in 2012. Beda was born in 1926 in Prague, Czech Republic. After attending a world-renowned hotel school in Lausanne, Switzerland, and gaining experience at numerous known hotels and clubs, he worked his way up to the General Manager of Food and Beverages at the Plaza Hotel in New York. Beda ended his illustrious career at Annandale Country Club, where he was General Manager for 17 years.
He is survived by his step children, Nicole Wilberg and Denise Marman, and their families which include Craig Wilberg and children, Brittany and Russell; and Denise's children, Elliott and Alexis. His nephew, Eden Slegr, still lives in the Pasadena area.
