James Cochran Bullard (71) died on December 18, 2013 after bravely battling pancreatic cancer. He will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his fun, optimistic personality and his kindness to all. Jim was born a fifth generation Californian on February 27, 1942 in Van Nuys. He grew up in San Marino and later resided in Arcadia, La Verne and Rancho Cucamonga. Jim graduated from San Marino High School, attended the University of California Berkley and graduated from California State University, Los Angeles (1967). Jim served honorably in the U.S. Navy and was a Vietnam Veteran. Jim is survived by his wife Sherry of 47 years; his brothers George and Edward (Dolly); his son Brian (Carrie), grandsons Hayden and Barrett; his daughter Laura Brown (Al), grandsons Alonzo and Marcus; three nieces and four nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Harma Bullard and his grandson Jackson Bullard. Jim spent most of his career as a chief financial officer for various entertainment companies. The job he enjoyed the most was working for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's Enforcement Staff. In retirement, Jim enjoyed spending time playing with his grandsons, golfing, snorkeling in Maui and running his model trains. Jim was a devoted member of Pilgrim Congregational Church and was Chairman of the Board of Trustees. A memorial service will be held on December 28th at 2:00 p.m. at Pilgrim Congregational Church, 600 N. Garey Avenue, Pomona, California, 91767. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Pilgrim Congregational Church in memory of Jim.
