Julian Carrillo


Resident of Mission Hills died peacefully with his family by his side November 27, 2012. He was born and raised in the city of San Fernando, Julian and his twin brother, Albert, were born April 18, 1927. Their parents were Cornelio Carrillo and Micaela Reyes, early residents of the city of San Fernando.

With their parents blessing Julian and Albert just 17 years old still attending San Fernando High School joined the Navy. They served together on the USS LST 588 during WWII. Even though they were so far away, their parents found comfort in them being together.

After the war, Julian and Albert graduated from San Fernando High School and attended barbering school. They opened Carrillo's Barber Shop on Kalisher Street, later moving to San Fernando Mission Blvd. Together the twin brothers served the community for over 40 years.

Julian is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Julie Carrillo; his
sister, Maria Carrillo; as well as numerous other beloved family members and friends. A special "Thank You" to his niece, Julie Gonzales for her caring for Julian during his illness.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 4, 2012, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., at Utter McKinley San Fernando Mission Mortuary. Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., at the San Fernando Mission Rey Church, followed by the burial. UTTER McKINLEY SAN FERNANDO MISSION MORTUARY
