Rose Ilene (Betty-Rose) Sargeant Jutzy
Passed away at home on April 20, 2013, surrounded by the family she loved so much. On October 15, 1924 Betty joined the family of Seventh-day Adventist Pastor E.N. Sargeant, Hannah (Boyson) Sargeant, and siblings Ella-Belle, Donald, and Doris, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She met the love of her life, Roy Jutzy, at Auburn Academy in Washington and attended Walla Walla College with him. They married in 1944, and enjoyed 68 years of dedication to each other, their family, and their deep faith in God. Following Roy's 1952 graduation from medical school in Loma Linda, Betty, alongside Roy, began a lifetime of service to others, at home and around the world.
Betty leaves behind her family who loved her dearly - her husband Roy; five children, Ron, Carol, Ken, James, and Tom, and their spouses; 14 grandchildren (and 10 spouses) and 17 great-grandchildren. She prayed for each one of them, by name, every night, with a deep desire for them, and all young people, to know and love Jesus Christ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Loma Linda University Church Re-Live U-Reach Ministry, 11125 Campus Street, Loma Linda, California 92354.
The family invites those who would like to share their memories of Betty-Rose to join them at a memorial celebration of her life with friends, family and food at Wong Kerlee International Conference Center, in the Loma Linda University Medical Center, on Saturday evening, May 4, 6:00 p.m.
