Tamara Lance died on November 27, 2012 at Huntington Hospital in Pasadena. (cause of death was heart failure).She was 92 years old just shy of her 93rd on December 10th. Born in 1919 in Ukraine, Russia to Sarra and Abessalom Yourga. They
eventually fled to Harbin, China during the revolution with her family that including her brother Alex and older sister Raisa. They all worked in the family store. She was able to come to the United States in 1939 where she later married, Joe Lance.
She was a volunteer for many years at Cedars Sinai Hospital as a Russian interpreter in the ER. She also volunteered for the Pasadena Senior Center and the City of Pasadena Tourism. Her primary residence was in Hollywood, California but later moved with her sister to Pasadena, California and was a proud resident of Orange Grove Blvd.
Her Nephew was Victor Ell a highly regarded official in the Tournament of Roses and Pasadena City Planning Commissions. Tamara loved to play poker and was an avid fan of the race track. Tamara Lance is survived by her 102 year old sister, Raisa Ell, her nephew's, Robert Ell and Craig Ell. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 1,
2012 at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles.
