Vivian Ahle

Vivian Ahle

After 89 years of guidance, love and care, our mom Vivian Ahle, passed away unexpectedly on October 10, 2013. She passed on peacefully with all of her 11 children and many grandchildren watching over her. She was loved by all of us and we appreciated her for the giving spirit she gave us with every breath of her life. We will and already miss her, but she now joins our dad and they can continue their dance together forever. Vivian was born in Pasadena in 1924. She attended Mt. St. Mary's College in Los Angeles. She married Robert Ahle in 1948 and eventually moved to Long Beach where she lived until her death. She is survived by all her 11 children, Susan, Louise, Nancy, Steve, Diane, Dave, Pat, Tim, Joe, Matt and Andy, as well as 29 grandchildren and 12 1/2 great grandchildren. She was a constant presence at St Cyprian's Church where she worked as both employee and volunteer for over 50 years. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, St Cyprian's Senior Club, book- reading club, a member of the ACCW (Archdiocese Council of Catholic Women) and a bible study club. She was often found driving "the girls" to bridge at several senior citizens' centers. She was a powerful woman of prayer – as her kids referred to her many times throughout her life. She always had a kind word for everyone and a patient listening ear. She was the closest thing to a living saint whose faith this world will truly miss. Visitation Sunday from 6 – 7 pm with Rosary at 7 pm at Luyben Family Dilday-Mottell Mortuary. Funeral Mass, Monday at 9:30 am at St. Cyprian Church with internment to follow at All Souls Cemetery.
