Agnes Frances Douglass died Friday, February 21, 2014, her 94th birthday. Wife of the late Donald Eaton Douglass Jr., she resided in Montebello, California. Born February 21, 1920 in Tonganoxie, Kansas, Agnes and her family moved to LA County at the age of seven. She is survived by her daughter Janet K. Pettitt and son Donald C. Douglass Sr. and his wife Judy. In addition to her children, Agnes was beloved by her eight grandchildren and their partners, 17 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Up until her death, she worked for the Monterey Park Lions Club, knitted sweaters for the children of World Vision and created beautiful quilts. Agnes was a lover of animals, specifically Pomeranian dogs and leaves her two loyal companions Maggie and Millie. Donations may be made to Canine Companions, Disabled American Veterans and St. Labre Indian School. Graveside services will be held Thursday, February 27 at 11:00am at Rose Hills Cemetery.
