Bob G. Schoff

Bob G. Schoff passed away on September 26, 2013 in Redlands, California from complications from a fall and from Alzheimer's disease. He was 90 years old. Bob was a resident of the Redlands area for 57 years beginning out in San Timeteo Canyon.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Ruth L. (Croffoot) Schoff; son Larry & daughter-in-law Allyne Schoff of Virginia; daughter Linda & son & son-in-law Dennis Delzer of Texas; three grand- children; five great grandchildren and his sister, Bette Hutchings, of California.
Bob served in the US Army Infantry during World War II. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge in Germany. Bob was a recipient of the Purple Heart for wounds suffered during this battle.
Bob's life long occupation was in the field of electronics. He was instrumental in the placement of hundreds of television sets in the LA Basin metroplex between 1949 and 1955. Bob worked at Standard Oil of California as an electronics technician through the mid-1950's. In 1957, he moved on to work as an electronic technician for the Naval Ordinance Laboratory in California. He was a representative for the Navy with various government contractors for weapon system development.
Bob loved to watch football games and was an avid Los Angeles RAMS fan until the team moved to St. Louis, Missouri. He continued to attend Redlands High School football games even after his children's graduations from high school. Traveling was his next favorite activity. This included journeys around the United States, Europe, South Pacific and enjoying many cruises.
Bob and his beloved wife, Ruth have been members of Lutheran churches in Redlands for 57 years. He did volunteer work for the Lutheran Social Services Thrift stores in Riverside and San Bernardino counties. Later in his retirement years, he joined Ruth doing volunteer work with the Lutheran Braille Workers.
Many friends will remember Bob Schoff as a kind, helpful, talkative and religious man.
A funeral service for Bob Schoff will be at Christ The King Lutheran Church, 1505 South Ford Street, Redlands, CA on Wednesday, October 2, at 2:00 pm. Graveside Service will be at Hillside Memorial Park on Thursday, October 3, at 9:00 am. Cortner Chapel is assisting family. In lieu of flowers Memorial donations may be made to the website- www.aiz.com or to the World War II Veterans' website – www.americanveteranscenter.com.
