Elton Maurice Shull
Aged 93, Elton Shull passed away at his home in Hemet, CA on May 11, 2013. Elton was born on October 27, 1919 to parents, Arthur and Mable Shull in Texhoma, Oklahoma.
Elton is preceded in death by his parents, three siblings, and son, Gary Wayne Shull. Elton is survived by his wife of 67 years, Betty Shull; his daughter Connie, and son-in-law Mike Ballou; his daughter-in-law Emily Shull; his grandchildren Bryan and Meghan Shull, Kimberly and John Wuerth, Trevor and Jennifer Stearns Nixon; his great grandchildren Kevin, Jacob, Kaitlyn, and Travis Wuerth, Tatum, Madison, and Ryleigh Stearns Nixon, and Olivia and Christopher Shull.
Elton retired as Chief Chemist at Riverside Cement Company after 34 years of service in 1981. Upon retirement, Elton and Betty enjoyed traveling. Together they visited and photographed all 50 states.
Before moving to Hemet, Elton and Betty lived in the home they built together in Bloomington, CA for 60 years. There, they were very active in their church where Elton served as a Deacon for many years.
Elton was characterized by his quiet, soft-spoken manner. He enjoyed creating and building toys and lasting memories for his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. His calm efficiency, patience, wit, resourcefulness, and creativity will be sorely missed.
Memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 16, at 1:30 PM at Green Acres Memorial Park & Mortuary,
11715 Cedar Avenue, Bloomington, CA.
