George Raymond Stevenson was born March 3, 1917 in Duluth, Minnesota to Franklin and Marion (Gregory) Stevenson. He attended school in Minnesota and was married July 16, 1938 to Florence Ludwig. George and Florence moved to California in 1940.
George proudly served his country as Yeoman Second Class in the Navy during World War II. He was stationed at Treasure Island in San Francisco.
George worked as a Purchasing Manager for USC and major electronics manufacturers in Southern California.
He loved music, playing both the violin and organ as well as singing in church choir. He played golf, bowled, and was a woodcarver. He loved his family, friends and pets. He also loved to dance and to camp with his travel club. Mostly George loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was referred to as "Adventure Boy" by his daughter and many of his close friends referred to him as "Gentleman George" which certainly applied to his nature.
George went to be with the Lord on May 1, 2013. He was predeceased by his wife Florence and son Craig. He is survived by his daughter Laurie.
