James E. Gordon
1929 - 2016
87, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2016, at his home in Redlands with two of his loving daughters, Jamy and Lori, by his side. He was born on December 8, 1929, in Decatur, Alabama, to Robert and Ada (McNutt) Gordon, the youngest of 10 children. He married Elizabeth Jacqueline Zaharia on July 2, 1950, and together had three daughters. Jim loved being with family, laughing and teasing, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jim enjoyed gardening and traveling with Liz and Clancy. He was a very talented man; there wasn't anything he couldn't build or fix. Jim was always ready and willing to help anyone with anything they needed help with. He especially loved working on cars, trucks and his biggest love was rebuilding tractors. He worked for several road construction companies and took great pride that he had been involved with building all the freeway systems in southern California. Jim was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved working in the Redlands LDS Temple. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elizabeth, of 50 years. Left to honor him and his love are Jim's three daughters, Gail (Pat) Beu of Chadron, NE, Jamy Gordon of Redlands, and Lori (Lee) Bice of Henderson, NV; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The family would like to invite you to the visitation on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 from 9:00am following Funeral Service at 10:00am at The Church of Jesus Christ LDS, 640 S. Center St., Redlands, CA following graveside service at Hillside Memorial Park in Redlands, CA.
