Son of Harold Paul and Rose Jewett Paul. Survived by his brother, Geoff Paul. Predeceased by his son, Kevin.
A graduate of Occidental College in Los Angeles with a degree in Psychology, Jim followed his interests with a passion: as a logger and writer, collecting fast cars and antiques, appreciating life through the lens of a Renaissance man. He never failed to add a generous dose of wit and humor to those in his company.
With a gentle heart towards nature and her beauty, Jim cared deeply for the environment; dividing his time between his beloved mountains and the breathtaking California coast. His love of beauty extended to artistic works as well. He actively supported the arts through his friendships, patronage and curation.
Jim lived a life rich in friendships, adventures and storytelling. Though his friendships were varied and deep, his greatest role was that of father to his son, Kevin; where his devotion and dedication were without limit.
A memorial service will be held April 26, 2014, at 2:00 p.m.: a gathering of friends in celebration of his life.
