Marion E. Nelson completed her life's journey on Friday, August 10th, 2012 at home in Arcadia, California. She was born August 24th, 1913, in Milwaukee Wisconsin, the daughter of William Nels Nelson and Emma Elsa (Hornke) Nelson. She moved to Beloit Wisconsin at an early age, attending local schools and graduated from Beloit High School in 1931. Following the death of her step-father, Marion and her mother moved to California, settling in Arcadia, where they would remain. She was office manager at Executive Promotions Limited which handled ticket printing for such local venues as the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, running the front office until her retirement. Marion's interest were varied. She loved to travel with friends, dine with her "breakfast club", knit, garden and was especially proud of her orchids. Marion was predeceased by her parents, step-father John Georgison, brother Oscar H. Nelson, sister Helen (Nelson) Schnell and nephew William N. Schnell. She is surved by neices Kathryn M. Schnell of Winnebago, Il., Kristine A. Schnell of Sarasota, Fl., Jaqui (Nelson) Bradley of Claremont, Ca., nephews Ben Schnell of Lakewood, Co., Harold Nelson of Monterey, Ca., and numerous grand-nephews, grand-neices, great-grand-nephews and great-grand neices. Marion was a fiercly independant woman, a kind friend and a loving aunt. She will be grealy missed by friends and loved ones. Crypt-side services will be held 11am-12:30pm Monday, August 20th, in El Portal de la Paz (Doorway of Peace) Mausoleum, Rose Hills Memorial Park, 3888 Workman Mill Road, Whittier, Calif. 90601. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Red Cross.
