MARTHA ALICIA OLIVARES SPERLING
November 26, 1955 August 23, 2013
Marti passed away suddenly and all too soon. She was preceded in death by her father Robert and older brother Robert. Marti is survived by her beloved husband, Keith; mother, Velia; brother, Art; mother-in-law, Fay Sperling; and dear brothers and sisters-in-law, Janett, Martha and Jennifer Olivares and Mark, Sherrie and Stanley Sperling; also many loved and caring cousins, nieces and nephews as well as numerous good friends.
Marti approached life from an artistic perspective always seeking and finding beauty in nature and people through her photography, expression through her hand crafted jewelry and clothing and frequently through her cherished personal relationships. Marti cared deeply about being a devoted wife, a trusted and loyal friend, and a loving and caring daughter, sister, auntie and cousin.
By career, Marti was an extremely talented graphic artist and owner of her world renowned company, Marti Sperling Graphics. Her work includes graphic arts and designs for various US municipalities and corporations, on the instrument panels of many vintage and classic car restorations and reproductions and vintage and current pinball machines across the world. Her focused and meticulous attention to detail and determination to be the best at her craft lead her to wide industry recognition.
Marti will be so dearly missed by all who knew her, she always strove to be a friend rather than needing a friend, as many will attest. Although she was taken too soon we bid her a loving farewell and wish that she relishes her peace and heavenly life with Pop and Bob and all the other departed souls that she cared so deeply about.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated by our cousin,
Fr. Michael Rocha at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Church 18400 Kinzie St., Northridge, CA 91325, on Friday, September 6, 2013 at 3:00 p.m.
