Maryellen (Kollver) Wilkins of Banning, CA entered Heaven on May 25, 2012, after complications from lung cancer. Maryellen was born on December 9, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan to Dewey and VirginiaKollver. She moved to California in 1962 and began working for Norris Industries. She met Jim Wilkins in 1977, and they were married one year later on August 12, 1978. While living in Rosemead, CA, Maryellen continued her career working for Edison International, and gave many hours to several volunteer organizations. After she retired, it was her love of animals that prompted her involvement with Sun Lakes Animal Rescue after moving to Sun Lakes Country Club in Banning, CA, in 2003. The new Kennels at Sun Lakes were dedicated to Maryellen in 2012. She is survived by her husband Jim; three children, Heather (Wilkins) Thrall and her husband Phil; Jannise Wilkins; Kevin Wilkins and his wife Janet; five grandchildren, Jonathan Thrall and his wife Jessica, Matthew Thrall, Jim Wilkins, Kari Wilkins, and Kimi Thrall, her brother Butch and his wife Sue and her 2 nephews, Michael and Mark. A Celebration of Maryellen's life was held at Sun Lakes Country Club on July 6, 2012. Donations can be made in Maryellen's name to the Animal Rescue at Sun Lakes, Banning CA.
