Mavis F. Becker
Mavis F. Becker, a long time resident of Long Beach CA, passed away October 2nd, 2013 in Cypress CA. She was 89 years old.
Mavis retired from Pacific Bell after 39 1/2 years as a Manager in the Harbor area and Los Angeles. She married Fred A. Becker in 1964 and continued living in Long Beach after his demise. Mavis is survived by step-son, Ken Becker and his wife, Sherry of Cerritos; granddaughter, Kristy Blair; and her great grandchildren. Mavis traveled extensively in Europe, the Caribbean Islands, Hawaii and the United States.
Mavis was very active in the Long Beach community. She volunteered at the Long Beach Senior Center for approximately 8 Years. She was President of the Legislative Council and later President of the Council of Seniors when the two merged. Later, Mavis moved to Cypress and bought a home with her best friend of 60 years, Alice Perea, and was a Cypress resident for 20 years.
A Memorial Service will be held on October 19th at 2:00 pm at Forest Lawn Cypress, 4471 Lincoln Ave. Cypress, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer foundation of your choice or the Lupus Foundation of America. Please sign the guest book at
