Ralph was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 45 years, Kathryn Robison Gain, in 1986 and by his son, Robert Coldham Gain, in 1972.
Mr. Gain graduated from Pasadena High School in 1929 and from
in 1934 where he was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity. He had a successful business career with The Suburban Companies where he served as Financial Vice President from 1948 until his retirement in 1975. He lived in Claremont, CA from 1950 until 2002 when he moved back to his hometown of Pasadena.
He was an avid traveler with a passion for riding trains in Europe which he did until he was in his mid 90s. He also enjoyed cruising and took 49 cruises in his lifetime. He had a love for bridge and gin rummy and was a fan of Big Band music. In his later years he spent much of his time "surfing the web" on his computer.
