ROSE GRACE POPP
87 of Redlands, CA passed away on May 11, 2013 at Redlands Community Hospital. She was born in Buffalo, NY on May 5, 1926 and lived in Redlands for 41 years. Rose attended Hutchinson High School in Buffalo, NY and married the love of her life, John Popp, in 1953. As a military wife, Rose traveled with her family and settled down in Redlands in 1972. She was a homemaker and volunteer at Lugonia Elementary School, working with both the Title I Reading Program and school library. She was a woman of faith as her life overflowed with God's love and sacrificial giving to her family and others around her. She was known by all as a wonderful cook and baked delicious desserts for numerous school, church and family functions. She is survived by 2 sons, Anthony Popp of Oak Harbor, WA and John Popp Jr. (Laura) of Post Falls, ID; 3 daughters, Mary Ann Apell (Scott) of San Diego, CA, Julie Cummings (Todd) of Highland, CA and Angela Popp of Redlands, CA; 2 sisters, Amelia Casciano and Frances York, both of NY; 1 brother, Sam Agnello of TX; 7 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, John Popp; parents, Dominic and Angela Agnello; brothers, Joseph, Frank, Charles and Dominic Agnello; and sisters, Lena Agnello and Mary Territo. Her love, encouragement and personal contributions to family and friends will be missed beyond words but will forever remain in our hearts. Viewing is on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Cortner Chapel, 221 Brookside Ave. in Redlands from 5-8 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Services are on Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 115 W. Olive Ave. in Redlands. Burial will follow immediately at 12:01 p.m. at Riverside National Cemetery.
