Blair, Shirley Elizabeth (Brown)
Shirley Elizabeth (Brown) Blair Born 2-10-22 Now with our lord 4-13-13
Shirley was born in Michigan. She grew up in the Detroit suburb of St. Clair Shores. She lost her Mother to illness at the age of eight, and her Father at the age of twenty. After High School, Shirley attended secretarial school. She worked as a secretary. After her friend Gini moved to California, Shirley took a trip to visit her. Friends arranged a blind date for her. Shirley was introduced to future Husband Marvin. That summer Marv drove his old car all the way to Detroit to propose to her. They soon married in her new home state of California and raised three children.
Shirley enjoyed baking, sewing, reading to the kids, and loved to go ball room dancing. She volunteered at Children's Home Soceity, was a Girl Scout leader, brailed books for the blind, and helped with summer bible school at church. She never backed down from a long day hike with the family on summer vacation and braved the out doors no matter how tough things got.
After the children grew up, Shirley and Marv traveled the world together.
Shirley is loved and admired for her positive spirit, gracious generosity, and her devotion to God and family.
She is survived by Daughter Nancy, Son John, four Grand Children and one Great Grand Child.
