THERESA H. VALENZUELA

Theresa was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and loyal friend to all that knew her. Theresa passed away peacefully on October 27, 2013 at her home in Mission Hills. She was 96 years old.

Theresa lived in Los Angeles and Oxnard, California as a child with her parents. Theresa met and married Paul Valenzuela in 1940 in Los Angeles, California. They moved to San Fernando in 1945 and raised three sons Mario, Robert, and Arthur and a daughter Janette.

Theresa's husband Paul passed away in October 1999. Their marriage endured 59 years.

Theresa was primarily a homemaker during her adult life but did hold various jobs in the newspaper and printing industry. Theresa was the matriarch of the family. She touched everyone around her with her keen sense of humor, warm and loving personality. Theresa was very social and her passion was being in the company of family and friends. She has left countless smiles in the hearts of many and will be dearly missed and remembered always.

Theresa is survived by her sons, Mario, Robert (Mary Jo), and Arthur (Mary Lou); daughter, Janette; sister, Lydia; and brothers, Jose and Ignacio. Theresa leaves eleven (11) grandchildren and eleven (11) great grandchildren. She will always be remembered by her family for her unconditional love and support.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Carmen, her caregiver, for providing excellent care and devotion to Theresa during the last years of her life.

Services will be held at Saint Ferdinand's Catholic Church in San Fernando on Thursday, October 31, 2013, 10:00 a.m., with burial services at San Fernando Mission Cemetery.
