Tracy Beasom
Tracy Beasom a resident of Claremont died peacefully at home on November 28 at age 89. She was born Jan 16, 1924 as Virginia Esther Blackburn in Craig, Missouri, daughter of Josephine and Charles Elmer Blackburn. In 1946 she earned a teaching degree from Midland College in Fremont, NE.and on Christmas day she married James (Jim) Prince Beasom III. Tracy taught school in Omaha, NE for 2 yrs and in Glendale, CA for 8 yrs. Moving to Claremont in 1955,Tracy became a stay-at-home mom with three sons. She enjoyed family reunions in Missouri with her seven siblings and their children, sailing to Catalina with her young sons, skiing until age 78, and biking on tours through Europe and USA until age 84. She was an
active volunteer of the Pomona Valley Hospital Auxiliary, and a pillar in the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church community, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, headed countless programs, and served as council president. She is preceded in death by her son Bruce and six of her siblings. She is survived by her devoted husband, Jim, her two sons and wives, Mark & Samela, and Paul & Susan, her grand- daughters, Andrea and Deanna, and brother, Ben Blackburn. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A memorial service will be 3pm Friday, Dec 6, at Good Shepherd Lutheran, 1700 N Towne Ave. Claremont. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church or Pomona Valley Community Hospital.
