Obituary Condolences

Passed away at her Redlands home on August 18, 2014. She is survived by her devoted husband of 65 years Henry Rosa, daughter Sharon Yurko of Sacramento, son Mark Rosa of Moreno Valley and grandchildren Ryan, Katie, Josh and Zach. Born November 1, 1929, Gladys graduated from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana and had a lengthy teaching career. She instilled a love of education in her students, children and grandchildren. She continued to volunteer in elementary school classrooms well into her eighties. Never one to stay home, Gladys was always on the go and full of energy. She was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the American Association of University Women and a volunteer for the Veterans Hospital in Loma Linda. She was a fixture at several area Bridge Clubs and a gifted amateur painter, florist, gardener and pianist. Gladys dearly loved spoiling all four of her grandchildren. A day with her often meant eating out, a movie, shopping, or sometimes all three...She will be sorely missed, but always remembered.
Her memorial service will be held at 10 am, Thurs. Aug. 28 at Cortner Chapel, 221 Brookside Ave., Redlands, CA with interment services to follow at Riverside National Cemetery Staging Area #3 at 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Gladys' name be made to Arrowhead Valley D.A.R. Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 8903, Redlands, CA 92373.
